Charlie Milne

abby

Charlie Milne was born at 11.00pm BST on Sunday 12th September, 2010, weighing in at 9lb 9oz.

Unfortunately he is not yet out of the Special Care Baby Unit because his blood sugar is not doing what blood sugar should – that is, being high enough to support a human being. The last I heard, he is beginning to respond to treatment, but there’s no word on the cause of his symptoms.

His mother is physically well.

Oh! Three cheers for his birth, but I do hope he gets all properly sugary soon. I'll be thinking of you all - especially you being all worried and transatlantic about it.

I wondered if that might be it! Congratulations to the family and to the aunt-for-a-second-time!

And Noel's blood sugar did that, too. No lasting ill effects.

*hugs lots* congratulations, and hope he's okay soon.

I vaguely remember there being some connection between big babies and blood sugar, but I'm not sure what the actual cause is there.

Congratulations. I'll keep my fingers crossed for him whilst he's in special care, and for the parents, as it's a worrying time - but I'm sure he will be just fine and end up riotously healthy. ;o)
