Reasons not to Blog

introspection

1. Time/Exhaustion

It’s fair and accurate to say that I’m busy right now. To add to that: I’m constantly freaking exhausted right now in a way that if you’re a teacher or full time educator, I’m sure you’d understand all too well. It’s deceptive to look at hours spent teaching in a day and think ‘Oh, that’s not so bad’ but I come home from the day unable to do much else than flop down on my awesome couch and watch TV or play games. Obviously, having worked in education before, I was prepared for this level of tiredness knowing how I feel after a day, but it still takes some time getting used to. Evenings are spent exhausted; weekends are spent in a similar fashion recuperating for the upcoming week.

2. Social/Performance Anxiety

This is something I can, at least, do something about. Just before leaving the UK, I lost two very dear friends, both Londoners and both friends in fleshspace as well as on the internet. These and other circumstances led me to the opinion that everything I said, posted or did was hurting people. And then it was ‘I haven’t posted for so long the next thing should be the best thing ever! And then it was ‘Eeeh no one misses me anyway’ and so on and so forth.

I’m intending to get better. Or at least get slowly back into blogging and so forth.

And what better way to do that than with a 30 days meme?

I've definitely missed you around these parts and I can't wait to see what you'll say on some of these, doll!

Heh, yeah - I hear ya about the teaching being exhausting thing! It's no coincidence that I too have more or less entirely failed to post since our term began...

I'm really glad you're planning to try to post more regularly again, though. I'd missed you too, and while I'd hoped that the reason you weren't posting was just that you were too busy having a fantastic time, I had worried about you too. I'm glad to hear from this and your next post that things are goin well, and it will be great to have you back.

I don't know the details, so I really can't comment in a brainful (totally a word) way, but...it's really sucky if you can't express yourself without losing friends. The people who really care about and respect you will still be here, not that it makes it any less hard :/

Looking forward to the 36 days...maybe I'll attempt it too XD

I think I understand the sentiment, and thank you very much for the words, but I do want to point out that it's not a case of "they didn't respect/care enough" as much a case of "we were hurting each other" in ways we weren't able to reconcile.

Awwww. Me too. I was gonna say ' I'll make it to London at some point...just as soon as I'm not getting bloody married' but then I realised you wouldn't be there.

D:

But seriously, it's awesome that you're loving where you are right now, I had such a hard time adjusting to Canada.

Not getting to read your awesome posts hurts me!

OK not in so many words, but your posts tend to make me go :D so that is good and therefore I think you should blog whenever you have the spoons for it.
