Thunderbird just lost my entire inbox. Everything. It's just suddenly not there any more.

- Does anyone have any advice on how to recover all my lost email?
- If I had a project sitting there waiting for my attention, or any slowtimes, I've lost them. Please email me if you were waiting for me to design a website for you, or an LJ layout, or any slowtimes.

I'm not kidding. I've lost everything

I don't know if this will be any help, but:

A few other sites seem to flag up the same problem.

Profile crash, that's what happened to me two years ago, they're supposed to have fixed the issue but perhaps not. everything is still there but the link to it is lost. I think it's fixable but I never did it, but try searching help sites for corrupted profile issues. am on train using phone no bookmarks good luck.

Nope. Not my profile, 'cause I have all my other folders.

Switch to Gmail & keep your mail on their server in future. I can invite you if you need me to?

^ this is almost absolutely certainly what happened.

It's not a profile crash, because I have all my other folders, and nothing I did when following the 'empty folders' line worked. Every email I have since recieved has landed in my inbox happily, but I have lost everything that was in my inbox yesterday.

Nothing I have done following the guides on that site has come close to working.

What type of mail account/who with?
23rd-Dec-2007 10:42 am (UTC)
Do you mean that it's POP mail downloaded (and subsequently deleted) from pair.com?

Well then. Weird. :(

This is why IMAP is cool!

I dunno what to tell you; I've never ever heard of Thunderbird spontaneously losing just a subset of mail. :/ No filters or anything else weird you've done lately?

Oh I've had IMAP fuck up on me too.

nope. I'm sure it's something corrupt, I just don't know how to fix.
