There was last-minute (well, yesterday) work today, which is where I've been all day,but I still have half an hour to say this:
You know that moment in your life, that may be considered one of the milestones to becoming an adult: when you realise that your parents, those god like beings that gave you life, answered your pleas, passed judgement on your actions and shaped a large part of your reality for a long time - you know that moment when you realise that they're actually people?
Well, I like the person I call the InnerMum. She's smart and caring and supportive and has way more degrees than you (or even me) - two of which she got since retiring. She has a social life and a fitness regime and makes sure I eat right and has a passion for learning and self-improvement that I admire above all.
She taught me to read, taught me maths, taught me to cook and to sew and tried hard to teach me to clean. She is pro-active and opinionated and artistic. And I kinda want to be her when I grow up.
Happy Mother's Day.
