This morning on Virgin on Demand (courtesy of iPlayer
), I watched that very rare thing: a good, enjoyable, informative documentary on my area of expertise. Yeah, you read that right.
The documentary in question is the Fossil Detectives
, a co-production between the OU and the BBC. as recommended by Dave
and by fellow volunteers at the NHM. And it's not just a TV programme: it's a massive new media project about palaeontology, with a downloadable guide, a well designed and timesinky website, and a range of videos. Just what I needed, in fact, to remind me that palaeontology rocks.
No idea how much is available outside the UK. Sorry guys, but the British licence payer paid for this programme.
Oh, and if you've not voted in the Very Prestigious Blog Awards
, go do so! If I'm going to be second, I can handle being second to someone as awesome as Liz
, but it'd be nice to get half of her votes.
I felt less dirty when trying to persuade you to vote against Wesley Crusher.
