I obviously have a tonne of problems with Warren, but I also think there's a need for Obama to reach out to the wingnut community as well, and yet he's made it clear (to me) how he feels on those important issues I disagree with Warren on.

And then - Lowry is everything right. Both should be looked at as religious choices, not political, and I forgive the choice Warren for Lowry's sake.

Nixon was hugely popular, and by no means an unsuccessful President, especially in foreign affairs. It was his popularity which created the hubris which led to his downfall. He wanted a third term, and would have got it if things had worked out.

He was an unlikeable man who did a reasonably good job. Whereas Dubya ...
