This weekend I have supervised young children playing with boats and LEGO and drum machines and Kaleidoscopes, helped them dress up as dogs and ducks and robots, helped them build bridges that go above my head, or that they can walk on, explained cross-polar microscopy and dry ice to adults and older children, watched my reflection do strange and wonderful things on a wall, and made a piece of metal float in mid air.
And I am getting paid for it.
Of course, it tires me out something chronic, but it is very much beyond amazing that I'm doing something I love so much - hanging around a museum and entertaining kids - and getting paid for it. My job rocks.
- oh, except for the part where I have to wear orange
