Since my last knitting post I've had a couple of people ask me to knit things specifically for them - which is really flattering and I love making things for people, but at the same time, I'm not willing to get obligations get in the way of enjoying to knit, so they're kind of low priorities. Plus, y'know, yarn is expensive and I haven't worked my way around the ethics/legalities of adding omething towards my time on that. So, two projects added to my list, and interest welcomed, but we'll see.
In the meantime, I rocked through a pair of fingerless gloves with some left over sock yarn:
These took about a day each, and are really cool to have, now. I've discovered the joys of layering them over other full or short fingered gloves, and they're thin and roomy enough to wear around the house, Mitchell-style, even when typing. Which is cool because I'm at the 'rents right now and their house is CHILLY.
It's also a prelude to an idea I have continuing the DC superheroine theme after the success of the Batgirl Sweater and using left over black wool from the dragon scarf. I'm making myself a matching set of black-and-yellow socks and gloves. Y'know, in Black Canary style. Knee length socks are cheaper than boots, after all. So far all I've got is this:
I know, I know. I'm a nerd. Bite me.
