I wonder if they've tried moving the sign?

A note to anyone taking a Piccadilly Line train from Covent Garden station: there are four lifts in operation at that station. There's even a semi-permanent sign at the station informing passengers of such.

Although I have no idea whose bright idea it was to put that sign between one pair of lifts and the other, so you can't see the second pair of lifts until you walk through the inevitable crowd of people waiting for the first pair and go behind the sign. There, more often then not, you can, as I did yesterday, find two lifts at the top floor just waiting for someone to press the 'summon' button and walk in.

The crowd that followed me in yesterday were particularly ungracious about it. You'd think that I deliberately hid the lifts from them and prevented them from looking behind the sign informing them of their existence, the looks I got.

So remember - before you join a crowd waiting around, have a look around and check if there are other ways to go your way.

If there hadn't been a tiny group of people moving around to the second lift, I wouldn't have noticed, either, although it was very busy so spotting signs might have been difficult.
